Polar Bears

Didn't polar bears manage to survive earlier periods of global warming when Greenland was green?

  1. Greenland hasn't been green in recorded history. The name was deliberaty switched by the Norwegians to dupe the Danes. And it worked.

Greenland is icy, and Iceland is green.

  2. Oxygen isotope samples taken from Greenland's ice core reveal that temperatures around 1100, during the height of the Norse farming colonies, were similar to those prevailing today. The higher temperatures were part of a warming trend that lasted until the 14th century.
